Man, Promoting Is Tough! It’s Fun, But it’s Tough!

Posted in: Blogs, Quick Smile Tidbits | No Comments | Posted on by admin

Just a day over a week away from the big concert, and man, the stress levels are rising through the roof.  If you’re reading my blog you’re interested in the real life trials and tribulations of the struggle to live your dreams, so I won’t sugar coat the smoke and mirrors of what this event is all about, and I’ll let you know I’m stressing about ticket sales, because I’m on the line financially for a set number of tickets.

The fact is, we’ve sold a lot of tickets so far… but a lot is not enough.  The fact is aside for what I NEED to sell, I set a goal of what I want to sell before this show.  A ticket goal, that pretty much said, if I don’t sell “X” number of tickets, then this is all over for me.  If I can’t move that number of tickets, I have no business doing this, and I should just give it up.

Well, we’re getting close to that number, but we’re not there.  I appreciate all the love and support from everyone that is buying tickets, and man, my boy Monchichi is hyping this show up and moving tickets like a champ.

One thing is for sure.  Every fan or friend that bought a ticket is going to get their money’s worth because “Smiley and Friends” are ready to blow the roof off The Key Club, and set fire to the Sunset Strip!

If this is going to be the last performance like this for me, then it’s going to be my best show ever.  I already got a grip of people in the house for support, now I just need the rest of my friends, the rest of my wrestling fans, and the rest of my wrestling acquaintances to come show some love and support, for a show which emotionally and monumentally may be my biggest and most important show ever.

Full circle.  Hip-hop to wrestling, wrestling back to hip-hop.  Round and round we go in this world, where we stop, nobody knows.  Make the ride worthwhile.

Well, I’ve been hustling!  Putting up posters all over Hollywood and the Sunset Strip area.  Flyering and making a scene at hip-hop concerts while people are waiting to go in and coming out.  Posting on all the social networks.  Sending out press releases.  “Hey you guys!!! Are you listening?!”

The fact is, it is tough to promote, and especially in Hollywood where everyone has their own project they’re promoting.  But for the art we push on.  For the entertainment we push on.  For the glory we push on.  For the rush of being on stage we push on.  For the emotional release and escape that performing gives us we push on.  And for the creative growth and our Conscious Evolution we push on.

Live your dreams!
Conquer your goals!
Let your fantasies be realities!

But to get all that, don’t expect things to come easy.  The Impossible Dream is only impossible when you stop trying!
